We acilitates the integration of newcomers into Canadian mainstream society. housing and home phone, welcoming refugees at the airport, providing transportation home, providing an interpreter if needed, applying for social insurance number, applying for health plans, finding family physicians and dentists, providing orientations for emergencies and home safety, banking, public transportation, connecting newcomers to local SPOs and community activities, registering adults to language classes and children to school, finding child care if applicable, supporting in finding work, applying for benefits including child tax benefit, offering advise on finance and budgeting, giving city tours, and encouraging refugees towards self-sufficiency.

We also provide emotional and social support to the newcomer based on the level of support required. We create social network and help them make friends. We carefully monitor any sign of depression, irritability, social isolation. We understand our limitations. If the required support needs professionals, we connect the newcomers to the local SPOs and resources.
