At Fugug Heritage and Relief Association Corporation, we are dedicated to providing support and assistance to those most vulnerable to the health, social, and economic impacts of emergencies. Our efforts are particularly focused on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In times of crisis, immediate response is crucial. We provide essential support to those affected by emergencies, offering food and other basic necessities. Emotional supports are also available to help individuals cope with the stress and trauma associated with emergencies.
Beyond immediate relief, we are committed to assisting individuals and families in their long-term recovery from emergencies. This includes helping them find permanent housing, access healthcare services, and secure employment.
We strive to foster resilience within our community, enabling us to better withstand and recover from emergencies. This involves strengthening community networks, promoting mental health and well-being, and advocating for policies and practices that reduce vulnerability to emergencies.
Our efforts are amplified through collaborations with other organizations, government agencies, and community groups. These partnerships allow us to pool resources, share expertise, and extend our reach to more people in need.
Our emergency response and relief efforts have been significantly bolstered by the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Support to Community Organizations Programs. This granting program for non-profits, funded by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund led by Employment and Social Development Canada, has enabled us to provide direct service delivery to those most vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19.
Our dedicated volunteers have been instrumental in shping and distributing groceries to those most affected by the pandemic. We are deeply grateful to the Canadian Red Cross, the Government of Canada, and our volunteers for their invaluable support during these challenging times.
